Roman Blind Course - 1 Day

Service Description

This is a 1 day course where you will learn how to make gorgeous Roman blinds for your home. During the day, you will learn how to sew and construct a simple Roman blind, from measuring your windows and choosing the correct equipment, through to hanging and cord operation at home. We will also discuss child safety and how to ensure your blinds are made using compliant, child-safe components. You will learn a variety of hand stitches and sewing techniques, as well as how to pattern match and join fabrics, including pattern placement techniques. We will explore the different linings and interlinings that can be used in Roman blind construction. Your completed sample will have no visible stitches on the front, giving a clean and professional finish. You will make a sample-size blind, giving you the skills and confidence to go on and create this attractive window treatment for your own home. Fabrics, materials, and a Roman blind making kit (including a child-safe Roman blind cassette track), along with course notes, are all included in the cost of this course. All equipment, fabrics, and sewing machines are provided. IMPORTANT – This course is suitable for those with some machine sewing experience. We also offer a beginners sewing machine workshop, which you may wish to complete prior to attending this class to build your confidence. Cost includes a light lunch, refreshments, and a lovely slice of homemade cake. You are also welcome to bring a packed lunch if you prefer.
