Beginners Curtain Making Class - Day 2

Service Description

This is a 1 day workshop, building on the skills learned in Day 1, where you will learn how to make a pinch pleat interlined, lined curtain using traditional techniques. Day two focuses on creating a beautifully structured curtain with an interlined finish and a hand-sewn pinch pleat heading, giving a fuller, more luxurious look. During the day, you will learn how to work with interlining and understand how it improves the drape, weight, and overall finish of your curtains. You will construct your curtain by layering face fabric, interlining, and lining, and develop your hand-sewing skills to achieve a professional result. You will also learn how to pattern match fabrics and gain an understanding of pattern repeats for calculating fabric quantities. You will be guided through measuring, marking, and forming hand-sewn pinch pleats, learning how to space and shape them evenly for a polished finish. By the end of the workshop, you will have completed a sample interlined curtain with a pinch pleat heading and gained the confidence to recreate this style at home. You will be expected to have completed Day 1 or have equivalent experience in curtain making, including confidence in measuring, cutting, and machine sewing. Cost includes use of equipment, fabrics and materials, refreshments, a fully catered light lunch, and a lovely slice of homemade cake in the afternoon. We will also finish the course with a glass of fizz (non-alcoholic if preferred). Also included is a curtain making instructional booklet.
