Beginners Curtain Making Class - 3 Day

Service Description

This is a 3 day workshop, within the 3 days you will learn how to measure windows for curtains including calculating fabric quantities, understand pattern repeats, joining fabrics, pattern matching, making up of curtains including linings and interlinings. Mitred corners, handsewn hems, headings both machine and hand finished. Dressing the curtains to finish. Day one we will discuss poles/tracks, how to measure, calculate fabric quantities for plain and patterned fabric using pattern repeats. Prepare and cut out lining, join fabric together, insert mitred corners, hems and heading tape to complete a Pencil pleat lined curtain sample. Day two we will make up an interlined, double/triple or goblet pleat curtain sample. Day three we will make up a curtain with a lead edge trimming and discuss how to dress and hang your curtains. You will be expected to have basic sewing machine skills and be competent in straight stitch machine sewing. Cost includes use of equipment, fabrics and materials, refreshments, fully catered lunch and a lovely slice of homemade cake in the afternoon. We will also finish the course with a glass of fizz (non alcoholic if preferred) Also included is a curtain making instructional booklet. Full payment is required prior to course start date.

To cancel your booking, please give at least 7 days notice, refunds will not be given when cancellations are received with less than 7 days notice. We do offer the opportunity to book on to another class date subject to availability.
